Books that are worth reading - BBPH

blob-article

You have one life. You can't learn everything through self-experience. A book is a tool to learn something beyond your self-experience.

Here are some non-famous books which can change your thinking forever.

  1. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom: A book on everything that one needs to know about life and nothing about anything else

  2. The Little Prince by Antonie de Saint-Exupéry: This book makes you realise why children are the most intelligent creatures on this planet

  3. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie: I am a big fan of thriller books and this one did complete justice to being a first-class thriller! The high point in this one is that it shows that a murder needn't always have a murderer

  4. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy: The story was compelling but it was the narrative style and the extraordinary use of metaphors which made me fell in love with it

  5. Asura: Tale of the Vanquished by Anand Neelakantan: I am a big fan of mythological stories and this one opened up an entirely different way of looking at the so called 'Demons' of our society

  6. Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer: My first Jeffery Archer and this one has set my expectations from his other books really high! Amazing tale of strength, grit and passion

  7. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: My brother made me read it as a part of his course work. Simple but fascinating chronicle of 4 sisters, right from their childhood to their family-hood. In fact, I read the entire series of 4 books within 2 months

  8. Wise and Otherwise by Sudha Murthy: The striking feature of this otherwise not so popular book is the plain simple language which the author uses. As you read the book, it feels like she is sitting right across and having a normal conversation over coffee with you, filled with stories of Indians from here and there

  9. Angles & Demons by Dan Brown: I read Da Vinci Code before it but the prequel was just mind blowing. It kept me hooked till the end without giving away any clues at all!

  10. Life of Pi by Yann Martel: I insisted on reading the book before watching the movie because the book is a literary treat. The author beautifully illustrates the concept of God and spirituality in a fictional avatar without being preachy at all
